Postnatal support in South London
Gentle, nurturing support for you and your growing family
The early days and weeks with your baby are a time of enormous change. While they can be filled with beautiful moments, they can also feel overwhelming, exhausting - both physically and emotionally.
As your postnatal doula, I'm here to nurture and support you as you find your feet in parenthood. Whether it's caring for your baby while you rest, offering reassurance with feeding, or simply being a listening ear, my support is always tailored to you and your family's individual needs.
You deserve to be cared for, too.
How I Can Support You
Every family is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to postnatal care. My role is to provide gentle, practical and emotional support in whatever way feels most helpful to you.
Emotional & Physical Support
A safe, reassuring space to talk, rest, process your birth experience and navigate the emotional and physical changes that come with welcoming a baby.
Newborn Care & Rest
I'll lovingly care for your baby while you catch up on sleep, enjoy a shower, eat a meal or simply take some much-needed time for yourself.
Breastfeeding & Bottle Feeding Support
Feeding your baby is such an important part of those early days, and I'm always happy to offer gentle guidance, encouragement and reassurance as part of my postnatal doula support.
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I also offer specialist feeding consultations for families experiencing more complex feeding challenges.
While everyday feeding guidance is included in my postnatal visits, concerns such as ongoing painful feeding, difficulties with milk transfer, low milk supply or weight gain may benefit from a dedicated IBCLC consultation.
This allows us the time and space to explore your concerns thoroughly, carry out a detailed assessment and create a personalised feeding plan together.
Practical Baby Care
From bathing and changing your baby to settling, soothing and understanding their cues, I'm here to help you grow in confidence as you get to know your little one.
Supporting the Mother,
Not Just the Baby
Because when a mother is supported, the whole family benefits
So much attention naturally turns to the baby after birth, but I believe mothers deserve just as much love, care and attention.
Postnatal support is about more than looking after your baby. It's about making sure you feel heard, nourished, rested and supported as you recover and adjust to life with your little one.
Whether you've had a straightforward birth, a caesarean, a difficult birth experience or are finding the transition to parenthood challenging, I'll meet you exactly where you are, without judgement or expectations.
You don't need to have a reason to ask for support. Sometimes just having someone there who understands can make all the difference.
What Might a Postnatal Visit Look Like?
There is no set routine. We can shape each visit around how you're feeling and what you need that day.
For example, I might arrive and make you a cup of tea while we chat about how things have been going. I could support you with a feed, take care of your baby while you have a nap or shower, prepare something for you to eat, or simply offer a calm and reassuring presence.
Some days you may need practical help, and other days you may just need someone to listen.
My aim is to leave you feeling a little more rested, reassured and confident than when I arrived.
Why Choose Breathe Mama Doula?

I understand that every baby, every mother and every family is unique. My approach is gentle, responsive and always led by your individual needs and choices.
I offer a calm, nurturing presence, practical experience and evidence-based guidance, without pressure or judgement.
‘Sabira is a wonderful doula and I would warmly recommend her services if you are having or have recently had a baby in the South West London area.
I got in touch with Sabira because I thought I would need some extra support with breastfeeding and with caring for a newborn. I am so glad I did. Sabira is a breastfeeding consultant and helped me overcome a number of challenges including avoiding mastitis for which I’m very grateful.
Best of all she is just a lovely, warm person, and I felt encouraged and supported both in her visits and the way she was always a WhatsApp away if I had any worries or concerns.
I would not hesitate to recommend her, and hope to keep in touch’- K.P Wandsworth
